G'day! Welcome to Partakers Think Spot at the start of new week on Monday the 31st of October 2011.
As part of our living as followers of Jesus, here is something which has the capability of affecting every person on the planet.
Jesus, our Master, said in Matthew 12:36-37But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
Jesus took words and thoughts extremely seriously! Jesus' words encouraged others gently towards paths of right living. He spoke words of love, kindness, rebuke, forgiveness, encouragement and blessing upon and to others! Jesus is to be our guide and Master in the use of thoughts and words.
In Matthew 5:21-22, Jesus equates calling somebody a fool with the physical act of murder! Murder has its beginning in anger developing into uncontrollable rage! Improper attitudes, words and thoughts can lead you and I to sin if we don't stop their destructive use quickly! May the words we communicate and think about, be like those of Jesus - "full of grace". How is your WOW factor of Jesus now?
When Jesus Christ called you to follow Him, He called you to follow Him wholeheartedly and be committed to only Him. Jesus calls you and I, to love God and be totally committed to Him.
Here is a brief prayer to help us into the new week.
Father, help us this week to be totally committed to you in all aspects of our lives. May those we live with, work with and interact with, know we are your child by the words we speak. We ask this, through the mighty name of your Son, Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Order of Service
Song: Father God, We Come
Father God, we come with confidence through faith. Father God, we stand before your throne of grace. We can only come, stand before your throne, because Christ has made the way; shed his precious blood as our sacrifice, so we offer you our praise.
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! The way is open to the Father, hallelujah!
Father God, we come, invited to draw near. Father God, we stand before you without fear. We are welcomed in, to your presence, Lord, as the Spirit leads the way. We will join with Christ, we will join with heav'n,
as we offer you our praise. Father God, we come, hallelujah.
Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 6:19-20 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: help us so to hear them, to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them that, through patience, and the comfort of your holy word, we may embrace and for ever hold fast the hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
He was originally charged with apostasy by the Iranian authorities but they have actually changed the charge against Yusef to one of rape and security offences such as Zionism or spying for Israel.
Prayer for Yusef
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers and petitions concerning our brother, Yusef. May our brother know your presence with him as he is held in Lakan Prison in Rasht, Iran. Encourage, bless and maintain him as he seeks to trust in you!
Prayers for his family and church
Be also with his wife, his children and the group of believers under his charge! We pray against the decision of the Iranian authorities and ask that from your wellspring of mercy that a reprieve would be given and his life spared! For we ask this in the name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, whom we have fellowship with Youcef in prison. Amen.
Prayers for Iranian Christians
Now prayers for our Christian family in Iran. O Father, continue to embolden them with wisdom and courage. Lord Jesus, may their love of you, shine through their actions towards each other and their enemies, just as you commanded in the Written Word, the Bible. Holy Spirit, who indwells them, endow them with peace and strength as only you can give!
Help them to trust fully in you and be wise in their dealings with the authorities. Father, we ask these things in the name of your son, Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
In the New Testament, we have four accounts of the life of Jesus Christ which are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These are called Gospels. But what is a Gospel, how are the four accounts different or similar and what were the main points each writer sought to communicate.
LATEST: Verdict on Pastor #Nadarkhani’s case has been referred to Iran’s supreme leader. Keep praying & taking action http://www.csw.org.uk/nadarkhani
G'day and welcome to Partakers! Today, we are joining Christians from around the world today, praying for Pastor Yusef Nadarkhani being held in Lakan Prison in Rasht, Iran!
He was originally charged with apostasy by the Iranian authorities but they have actually changed the charge against Yusef to one of rape and security offences such as Zionism or spying for Israel.

Four weeks ago we looked together at Psalm 66 and discovered that true joy involved praise, testimony and sacrifice. That only by being serving instruments of God's orchestra of joy, can true joy be experienced! Then last week we looked at a momentous and joyous event followed by a great tragedy as Nadab and Abihu stumbled and incurred God's wrath on their sin.
Book of Leviticus
Tonight, we look again in the book of Leviticus. Some of the words and phrases we commonly use come straight from the book of Leviticus. Words such as jubilee and scapegoat are commonly used today. And what husband hasn't offered a form of guilt offering to his wife!
Leviticus does have important things to tell us about sin, obedience and holiness. Perhaps most importantly it tells of God dwelling with His people. So tonight we delve into Leviticus chapter 16, which is the centre and pinnacle of the book. So please do turn in your bibles to Leviticus 16.
G'day! Welcome to Partakers Think Spot at the start of new week on Monday the 3rd of October 2011. We welcome back Pauline as she shares some insights with you.
What we say as Christians is very important. The Bible is very clear on that. 1 Peter 2:1 "Therefore rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander of every kind."
James 4:11-12 "Brothers do not slander one another...who are you to judge your neighbour?"
The definition of slander is words falsely spoken that damage the reputation of another or an abusive attack on a person's character or good name or to attack the good name and reputation of someone
So next time you go to say anything negative about someone or to criticise their actions, think again, you might be disobeying God and breaking a command.
James 3:3-8 powerfully shows how a small thing such as the tongue is able to cause much damage. He says that the tongue is a world of evil that corrupts the whole person ...and is itself set on fire by hell.
Mark 7:20-22 states Jesus talking about words "What comes out of a man is what makes him unclean. For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit and slander. All these evils come from inside and make a man unclean." Most of us would not consider telling a lie, as serious sin as murder but Jesus clearly does not separate them, he labels them both evil.
Again in Romans 1:29 - 32 the seriousness of slander , gossip and lying are clearly stated. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of deceit and they are gossips, slanderers. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do such things but also approve of those whom practice them.
Christians are very good at gossiping but disguising it as prayerful concern. We pass on a juicy bit of information about someone and then ask the person to pray about the situation. As Christians we should not pass on any information about anyone else unless the person concerned has asked us to. It is not our place to do so even if it is for prayer.
Philippians 2:14 "Do everything without complaining or arguing. " There is nothing confusing about that command. How often do we complain about our jobs or our spouses? Or the weather? We are disobeying God when we do. God does not take disobedience lightly.
The excuse 'Everyone does it' does not wash with God when we see him face to face and He asks us why we complained so often and about so many things everyone else did it will pot be an acceptable reason. Our jobs, our spouses and the weather are all gifts from God, we should be thanking Him for them not grumbling about them!
1 Thessalonians 5:8 says give thanks in all circumstances it does not say give thanks in some and complain in others! So then before you say anything, think "Is what I am about to say pleasing to God.?"
Prayers
Now, a prayer to help you into this new week. Father, we thank you for words! We thank you that we can communicate words of life to other people! Help us to use words wisely as we interact, communicate and deal with other people, especially our loved ones and work colleagues. May the Holy Spirit, guide, rebuke and counsel, as we use the amazing gift of words to us, as we seeks to live a life worthy of Jesus Christ. Amen!
Thanks for joining us on Partakers ThinkSpot! See you again real soon!
